    (Humanities & Social Sciences)

    The General Fellowship Programme
    The Barbro Klein Fellowship Programme

Located in the Botanic Garden in Uppsala, the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) is a national institute for advanced study. For the academic year 2024-25 the Collegium offers residential fellowships for senior and early-career scholars from all countries. The fellowships give scholars the opportunity to concentrate on their own research interests, free from the teaching and administrative obligations of ordinary university life. Fellows are, however, expected to be active members of the scholarly community of the Collegium and participate in seminars and other academic events beyond their own fields of specialization. Scholars may apply for a full academic year (September - June) or one semester.

Fellows receive a monthly salary. All Fellows have their own fully equipped office, and the Collegium will provide and pay for accommodation for those who do not live in the Stockholm-Uppsala region. The collections of the Carolina Rediviva Library and other scientific facilities at Uppsala University are situated nearby.
